Description

I am passionate about working with people and have done so in a helping capacity for nearly ten years. My journey to the counselling profession came after a process of personal growth and reflection, which I believe to be essential in leading a happy and fulfilling life. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology, and a Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology.
I have worked with diverse populations including men, women, youth and families, with special focus on trauma counselling. In addition to trauma therapy, I have experience working with those struggling with addictions and generalized life challenges including stress, anxiety, depression, family conflict and the like. Having spent some time living and studying in Latin America, I hold a certificate of Advanced Proficiency in Spanish Language and am happy to work with both English and Spanish speakers. When not counselling I can be found enjoying family time with my husband and children or pursuing my personal hobbies and interests including running, teaching dance classes and various DIY projects around the house.

I cannot caution enough against Kara Warren as a councillor. My wife and I were having severe difficulties and we made mistake of using Kara Warren’s counselling services. We saw her both separately and as a couple. Kara did not try to get to know me, but instead decided that she did not like me, and worked at sabotaging me. Over the next couple of months, in my wife and my couples sessions, she worked to subvert my relationship with my wife. Rather than trying to help my wife and I work through our problems, she manipulated the situation to show that all problems were caused by me. In private sessions, she advised my wife to divorce me. The last time I saw Kara, she told me that she thought I was an {expletive} . What she had completely missed, was the massive stress I was under, which caused me to suffer a nervous breakdown, and attempt suicide. A competent councillor should have seen warning signs at less than a week before.
