Buyer Beware The installer was in a rush to leave and drove away without speaking with us. The next day the painter stained the rail. When we inspected the railing my husband noticed dents and nail holes that had not been filled. The owner began calling and demanding payment but agreed to visit the house to see our concerns. When he arrived he began to raise his voice and insisted that all the issues were caused by the painter. He said if we refused to pay immediately he would put a lien on our home. Although we agreed that the painter was also at fault (he should not have ensured all dents and nail holes were filled) we felt that the lack of communication with the painter and the way we were treated warranted some consideration in our bill. We also contacted a number of other railing companies and the majority (4 out of 5) indicated that they never leave a railing with dents and holes that are not filled for the painter.
