Ripley Animal Hospital

Went here last week (Dec 13) with my mom and her Mini Schnauzer to check what was wrong with the dog as she had blood in her urine; barely ate, drank lots of water. They performed a blood test and an xray, but could not see anything wrong and gave her some antibiotics and charged $450+ for the services. Yesterday went to a different animal clinic since the dog did not sleep and breathed heavily. Brought a copy of the blood test to this new clinic and were told that the test they (Ripley's) did doesn't say much. A new blood test was taken and sent to a lab to be properly tested (we were told it would take 3hours for results and that they would let us know in the morning). What we found out is that the dog had Pyometra and initial surgery revealed that it had spread too far and that the dog would only have a 5% survival chance. So a big THANK YOU to the doctor and staff at Ripley's Animal Hospital for not noticing the symptoms and lowering survival chances due to lost time. RIP Alma.
