Honesty is my policy, the hourly rate doesn't start when I leave my home to come to yours. It starts when I start my hedge trimmer, it stops when I stop to take a break, like most employment your breaks or lunch are not paid for, so why would I expect you to pay for mine. Upon completion of the job and satisfaction of the home owner, is when I get paid. My hedge trimming business is registered as a small business in Ontario and I have an HST #. If I do a quote for you and it takes me two hours, as to a full three you only pay for two. Same goes for if I quote 4 and it takes 5 I'll only charge the four hours like I quoted.
