They worked on the premise that by creating a dead air space between the existing window and the storm window, you increase the insulation value of the window. These windows were mounted on the exterior of the house to existing window frames to create the dead air space. Truco Storm Windows interior window inserts use this same basic idea, but we design inserts to be used on the interior of the house on existing windows. These inserts are designed to be installed from the comfort and safety of the inside of the home, as the homeowner sees fit.
